After school she took up and finished an apprenticeship as a hairdresser from 2002 - 2005.
Shen then worked for the Wella Ag for a year, and passed the examination for the master craftman's certificate with an "Excellent" in 2008. She worked another two years in a Hamburg coiffure studio and trained her professional skills in hair & make up techniques. Since 2012 Maike is represented as a freelance artist by Liganord.
